Spanish giants FC Barcelona achieved a fantastic result on Wednesday night, thrashing Red Star Belgrade 5-2 in their UEFA Champions League match at the Stadion Rajko Mitić in Belgrade, Serbia.
Polish striker Lewandowski scored twice, with additional goals from Raphinha, Lopez, and Martinez.
Martinez broke the deadlock in the 13th minute. The defender left unmarked, met Raphinha’s well-taken free kick with a flying header.
Silas levelled the score for the home team in the 27th minute, chipping the ball over Peña.
Two minutes before the half-time whistle, Pedri laid the ball to Raphinha, whose low shot struck the post and bounced back. Lewandowski took no chances, sticking out his leg to make it 2-1.
The Polish forward got his second goal of the game, and Barcelona’s third, in the 53rd minute, as a cross from Kounde deflected off Lewandowski to make it 3-1.
Raphinha finally registered his own goal, latching onto a precise pass from Kounde in the 55th minute.
In the 76th minute, Lopez capped the win with a goal, firing the ball into the bottom-left corner. Kounde had cut the ball back for the Spaniard, who made it 5-1.
It was a hat-trick of assists for French defender Kounde.
Angolan winger Wilson scored the second goal for the home team in the 84th minute, capitalising on a lapse in the Barcelona defence.
Seol passed the ball to Wilson, who took his time to cut inside before delivering a curling effort into the bottom-right corner of the net.
